Insert Door Technology

The Insert Door Technology™ is an innovative new design incorporating a holding system into a standard home interior door allowing it to accept removable and interchangeable inserts. This system operates without the use of tools allowing for quick and easy changing of the inserts, yet securely locks the inserts into place allowing the door to function just like a regular door. This system also has its fasteners hidden from view giving the door excellent aesthetics. This function gives the door complete ability to change its functionality from a screen door to a mirror door to a chalk board door to a poster/picture holding door and beyond. The technology was first deployed nine years ago as an elegant and aesthetically pleasing home child's room door with a screen insert allowing viewing and hearing of the child without opening the door, while keeping pets from entering the room.

Three distinct door designs are available with many different detail features to provide a product platform that will have a very wide range of applications in the home giving it a very large market potential. This technology can be fabricated in a hollow core or solid core door format giving it the ability to match any existing home decor. A "conversion kit" application of this technology has also been developed that allows for the direct conversion of existing doors. This product line would also be suitable being offered as a specialty order item allowing for its production working capital investment to be low and it having virtually no inventory cost risk.

This exciting and revolutionary product concept has tremendous market potential. In 2011, a market reseach analysis was conducted through the Parenting Group who is the publishers of Parenting, Conceived, Baby Talk and Working Mother magazines using the MomConnection^® network. The results of this analysis demonstrated that the Sound and Secure^® Home Nursery Room Door has a U.S. market potential of 2.8 million doors per year. ODC is currently seeking a business arrangement with a qualified manufacturer to bring this product into the market place. Complete engineering packages for all three door designs and the many detail options are available and ready for transition to manufacturing, and ODC has all the necessary qualifications to provide consulting to assist with this transition.
